Sponsored Content & Advertising Policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Readers must be able to tell when content has been paid for or influenced by a commercial relationship. This policy follows guidance such as the US FTC Endorsement Guides, the UK CAP Code, EU consumer law and consumer-protection norms in Pakistan.

What must be disclosed

Disclose whenever you, or a person or company connected to you, received any payment, free product or service, commission, affiliate fee, or other benefit connected to what you write, including:

  • sponsored posts and paid reviews;
  • affiliate links;
  • articles produced in exchange for products, travel or access;
  • content in which you have a financial interest in the thing you recommend.

How to disclose on Eboona

  • Switch on the Sponsored content option in the article editor and name the sponsor. Eboona then shows a clear "Sponsored" label at the top of the article.
  • In addition, write a plain sentence near the start of the article, for example: "This article was sponsored by Example Co."
  • Mark affiliate and paid links as such. Disclosure must be unmistakable and not hidden in a footer or behind a link.

What is not allowed

  • Presenting paid promotion as independent opinion.
  • Fake or incentivised reviews that hide the incentive.
  • Sponsored content on topics we do not allow (see Community Guidelines).

Enforcement

Undisclosed sponsored content may be labelled by us, unpublished, or counted against your author record. Repeat breaches can lead to loss of publishing access. See the Moderation and Appeals Policy.
