Writer Agreement
Version 2026-11-02. Last updated: 2 November 2026
This Writer Agreement applies to everyone who applies to write or publishes articles on Eboona. You must be at least 18 years old to apply. It supplements our Terms of Service.
1. Ownership and licence
- You own the copyright in your articles.
- You grant Eboona a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable (to our service providers only) licence to host, publish, display, distribute, format, translate for accessibility, excerpt, promote and archive your articles and your author profile on the platform, in newsletters and in social and search previews.
- The licence continues while your article is published. After you unpublish or delete an article, we will stop displaying it, and the licence continues only for backups, legal compliance and for copies shared in emails already sent.
2. Your promises
You confirm and promise that:
- the article is your original work, or you hold all rights needed to publish it;
- it does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, and is not defamatory or unlawful;
- facts are stated honestly, quotations and sources are properly credited, and AI assistance (if used) is reviewed by you and not used to copy third-party work;
- any paid, sponsored or affiliate relationship is disclosed as set out in our Sponsored Content Policy;
- your profile information is truthful and you do not impersonate anyone.
3. Content standards and moderation
Your work must follow our Community Guidelines and Publishing Policy. Submissions undergo automated screening and AI review (Google Gemini) against our editorial policies. Compliant articles (scoring 8/10 or higher) are approved automatically, while articles requiring changes receive constructive feedback. When an article is rejected, we provide specific reasons and you may appeal under our Moderation and Appeals Policy.
4. Author standing and Honor Score
Publishing privileges on Eboona are governed by an Author Honor Score (0–100%, initialized at 100%):
- Each approved and published article adds +2% to your score (up to 100%).
- Submissions rejected for policy violations deduct 5% from your score.
- A successful appeal resolved by an administrator restores +5% to your score.
- Authors must maintain an Honor Score of 90% or higher to submit new drafts or send co-authorship proposals. If your score falls below 90%, you can address feedback on drafts or contact an administrator to request a review.
5. Copyright strikes
If valid copyright complaints against your articles are upheld, strikes are recorded against your author account. After 3 upheld strikes your publishing rights may be terminated under our repeat infringer policy in the Copyright and DMCA Policy.
6. Co-authored articles
If you invite another writer as co-author, they must accept before they are credited. Each co-author gives the promises in this agreement for the contributions they make. The primary author controls the article and its analytics.
7. Payment
Publishing on Eboona is currently unpaid and Eboona does not charge writers. If payment, tips or revenue sharing are introduced, the terms, taxes and payout rules will be published and you will be asked to accept them before they apply to you.
8. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Eboona against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from a breach of your promises in section 2, to the extent permitted by law.
9. Ending this agreement
You may stop writing and delete your articles at any time. We may end this agreement and your publishing access if you breach it or our policies. Sections that by nature should continue (licence for backups, promises, indemnity, governing law) will continue.
10. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, subject to any mandatory rights you have where you live.
